La serie “Widow’s Bay”,  dominó la gala de los premios Emmy 2026 al ganar en 14 categorías, incluyendo mejor serie de comedia.

“The Pitt”, que lideraba las nominaciones con 25, repitió su victoria del año pasado al volver a ganar en la categoría de mejor serie dramática.

“Hacks”, que llegó a la gala entre las favoritas con 24 nominaciones, vio como “Widow’s Bay” la venció en la categoría de mejor serie de comedia. Pero, no obstante, su protagonista, Jean Smart, impuso un récord, al ganar el premio Emmy a mejor actriz principal en una serie de comedia, distinción que obtuvo por cada una de las cinco temporadas que tuvo “Hacks”.

Además, con su victoria de la noche, Smart sumó ocho premios Emmy ganados, con lo que igualó a Julia Louis-Dreyfus y Cloris Leachman como quienes han ganado más premios Emmy de interpretación en la historia de esta gala. Luego, en la misma gala, la actriz Allison Janney se unió a este exclusivo grupo tras ganar el Emmy a mejor actriz de repartor en una serie dramática por “The Diplomat”.

El actor Matthew Rhys también impuso otro récord, al ganar dos premios Emmy como actor principal, en las categorías de mejor serie de comedia (por “Window’s Bay”) y en una miniserie (por “The Beast in Me”). Rhys ya había obtenido en 2018 el Emmy a mejor actor principal en una serie dramática, por “The Americans”. Así que se convirtió en el único intérprete que ha ganado el Emmy como actor principal en tres categorías distintas.
